Is Hôtel Les Mouettes worth it? Our review
As you can see, for us, Hôtel Les Mouettes is well worth the money.
Housed in a Corsican villa built in 1880 by a wealthy Corsican family, it now offers an experience reminiscent of the seaside resorts of Normandy and Brittany.
We loved therelaxing atmosphere and the magnificent sea view from the restaurant terrace. For us, this is one ofthe best hotels in Ajaccio and we highly recommend it.

Decoration and atmosphere
The Hôtel Les Mouettes in Ajaccio offers a family atmosphere reminiscent of luxury hotels in seaside resorts. We’re thinking in particular of the Grand Hôtel de Cabourg and L’Hermitage de La Baule, with their warm, old-fashioned decor .
With its many terraces, you can enjoy the sun and live outside. Literally with its feet in the water, this hotel invites you to take a timeless break.
The welcome is warm and elegant, completely in keeping with the location.

The room
The room’s decor is relatively clean and uncluttered. The quilted headboard and thick bed runner add a cosy touch. The antique armchair with elongated seat adds a retro touch to the ensemble.

From our room, we enjoy a charming private terrace overlooking the pool and the sea in the background.

We found an espresso machine and Bluetooth speaker in the room and 2 bottles of water waiting for us.

Hotel Les Mouettes in Ajaccio serves a buffet breakfast. The menu is made up of local products, featuring Corsican producers.

The restoration
The hotel’s bar is open all day long. An opportunity to cool off or start the evening by enjoying the mild Corsican climate on the hotel terrace. In addition to classic cocktails, you’ll find a fine selection of Corsican beers.

And for lunch or dinner, you can opt for the talented chef Alessandra Capone, who offers us a Corso Italian cuisine full of flavor and creativity. All enjoyed in the quiet, with just the waves to accompany our meal peacefully. Our meal lasted well into the night…

History
The Hôtel Les Mouettes in Ajaccio was one of the first luxury hotels built in Corsica. Opened in 1930 as “Hostellerie de la Grande Bleue”, it became “Les Mouettes” in 1954.
The Pieri family, who had already owned the Hôtel Castel Brando on Cap Corse since 1990, bought it in 2006. Today, the hotel is run by the son, Julien Pieri.
