Beachfront hotels in Ajaccio (and seaside)
There aren’t really any waterfront hotels in downtown Ajaccio, but if you head west (to the Pointe de Parata) and south to the large beach at Portoccio, you’ll find a few options.
We’ll share our thoughts on each hotel in detail in this article, but if you’re looking for a quick answer, here are the best seaside hotels in Ajaccio, in our opinion. We’ve chosen hotels with their feet firmly in the water:

The terrace and pool area is a really relaxing and inspiring place, in our opinion. The rooms, meanwhile, are elegantly decorated, offering a perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. What’s more, a staircase just below leads to a small beach, offering a refreshing alternative for those who prefer the sea to the pool.

Originally a simple straw hut on the beach, the hotel has been transformed into a veritable haven of luxury, nestled along one of the most beautiful beaches in the Bay of Ajaccio, offering breathtaking views of the Sanguinaires Islands.

Hotel San Carlu Citadelle
Since its renovation, the San Carlu is a must-see.
We love its central location next to the citadel.
And it’s hard not to fall under the spell of the rooftop bar with its 180° view over the Gulf of Ajaccio. This sea view is particularly appreciated during breakfast!
The rooms are not large (the building being old) but they are tastefully decorated, in a modern style with retro touches.

If you’re looking for a very practical hotel, our vote goes to the Best Western.
It’s easy to get out of town to explore the region, and boasts spacious, modern rooms, sea views, an outdoor pool and ample parking.
We think the value for money is excellent.
