1. Restaurant Sognu di Babbu (Hôtel Des Roches – gastronomic)
Located on the edge of the old town facing the Gulf of Valinco, Restaurant Sognu di Babbu belongs to Hôtel Des Roches. In fact, it’s one of our favorite accommodations in Sartène. Wondering what “sognu di babbu” means? The translation is “a father’s dream”. It’s in this poetic, family atmosphere that you’re about to enjoy your meal. And then there’s the large panoramic terrace with its breathtaking views of the surrounding area and the sea on the horizon. We were impressed by the scenery!
Chef Guillaume revisits Corsican specialties with an exceptional gastronomic menu. You’ll enjoy delicate cuisine based on fresh, local produce: fillet of sea bream with zucchini cream, fillet with Roquefort sauce and Sarladaise potatoes, and other savoury dishes. A wide selection of local wines is also available to accompany your meal.

2. Restaurant L’Arbousier (traditional – family)
A real favorite during our visit to the town, Restaurant L’Arbousier won us over with its home-cooked cuisine and unique setting! We were seated on a pretty little terrace, nestled between 2 narrow streets, overlooking the verdant valley. From starter to dessert, we were transported to the 4 corners of Corsica.
We started our meal with very soft and tasty zucchini madeleines. Then we enjoyed the panzetta lasagne. The quantities were very generous, but we still had dessert to end on a sweet note! We tested the famous Corsican chestnut flour galettes.
During your stay in Sartène, we highly recommend you try the local gastronomy. In our opinion, this is one of the must-do activities in Corsica’s most Corsican village!
