Where to stay in Calvi Corsica: best districts
Is spending the night in Calvi worth it?
Yes, absolutely. Calvi is a fascinating town with its citadel, long beach and surrounding mountains. You’ll find plenty of restaurants, hotels and activities to discover the Balagne region.
It’s one of the most beautiful places to stay in Corsica.
And then you can plan your stay with our guide to What to do in Calvi and the most beautiful beaches around Calvi.
Calvi’s best places to stay: map
Here’s a map to help you find your way around, showing the main areas to stay in Calvi (described in the following paragraphs):
Sleep around the citadel, old town, north coast
Let’s start with the neighborhoods closest to the citadel: the old town and the north coast, behind the citadel.
Benefits:
- Close to attractions and the citadel
- Close to restaurants
- The charm of the place
- Quiet (only for hotels on the north coast)
Disadvantages:
- Parking difficulties
- A little further from the main beach of La Pinède
Our favorite hotel:
We recommend the Hotel Kasano – see photos and availability
Sleep on the harbour and beach side, along the T30 road
To the east of the old town, you’ll find the port and beach area of La Pinède.
Most hotels are built around the T30 road.
Benefits:
- Close to the beach and old town
- Close to all restaurants
Disadvantages:
- The streets where the hotels are located have much less charm.
- Constant activity around the hotels
Our favorite hotel:
We recommend the Hotel Acquale closest to the old center – see photos and availability
And we recommend Hotel Onda, beach side – see photos and availability
Sleeping in the hills above Calvi
Benefits:
- Quiet, far from the hustle and bustle of the city
- Exceptional views
Disadvantages:
- you have to take the car to get to the center of Calvi
- narrow roads
Our favorite hotel:
Few hotels in this area, mostly rentals.
But if you’re looking for luxury, we recommend La Villa Calvi with its magnificent views – see photos and availability.
Sleep in the surrounding villages
And if you’re not looking for a big city absolutely, why not consider hotels in the surrounding villages: mountain villages, like Lumio, or coastal villages like Algajola.
Benefits:
- Village charm
- Quieter than the city
- Easy access to the entire Balagne region
Disadvantages:
- Less choice of restaurants and activities on foot
- You have to find parking when you go to Calvi
Our favorite hotel:
We recommend the A Casa di Ma hotel in the village of Lumio – see photos and availability.
And we recommend the Hotel Serenada, in the coastal village of Algajola – see photos and availability.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Kasano: the location, the decor, the artwork… and above all the welcome!
