Is it hard to park in Calvi?
Parking in Calvi requires a bit of planning, especially during the summer season. The municipality has implemented a fairly comprehensive paid parking zone system, divided into orange, purple, and red zones, each with its own rules regarding parking duration and rates.
We have noticed that parking demand increases significantly between June and September, when visitors flock to the citadel and the harbor. If you’re driving outside of this time frame, finding a parking spot is much easier.
Parking in Calvi: Summary
Parking on the street: yes, under certain conditions
Street parking is permitted in Calvi, but it is subject to a fee in several areas from April 1 to October 31, every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. There are three zones: the orange zone for long-term parking, the purple zone reserved primarily for residents, and the red zone reserved for short-term stops.

Free parking options in Calvi remain limited.
You have to go away from downtown to find streets with parking meters.
For short stops, the free 20-minute parking spots allow you to drop off a passenger or pick up luggage without having to pay. We suggest you use these parking meters for quick stops rather than risk getting a ticket in a metered zone.

The hourly rate is €2 in the orange, purple, and red zones.
Post-Parking Fee (equivalent to a fixed-amount fine): 17€.
At the Pinède parking lots: €3 for 5 hours and €5 for 10 hours.
Essential tips
- During peak season, demand is high in the areas around the citadel and the Pinède. It’s best to arrive early to find a seat
- If you’re staying in Calvi for several days, a €35 pass gives you unlimited access to the orange and purple zones
- Always keep your ticket or proof of payment visible inside the vehicle; otherwise, the post-parking fee will apply.

Where to park to get closer to specific locations in Calvi
Most of Calvi’s attractions are concentrated between the citadel, the harbor, and the waterfront, but some sites—notably the beaches of La Pinède—are located a little further from the center. So here are our recommendations for each one.

Where to Park When Visiting the Historic Center: The Citadel
To reach the citadel and stroll along its ramparts, the Citadel Parking Lot is the most direct option. It’s located right at the foot of the site, which saves you a long walk to get to the cobblestone streets. We especially appreciate how close it is to the historic center, which allows us to start our tour right away. From there, you can walk to the marina in just a few minutes.
Where to park when visiting the marina
The port of Calvi attracts many visitors who come to enjoy the outdoor cafes and watch the boats moored there. To get closer to that, there are two main options:
- Port de Commerce Parking Lot — Orange Zone, Long-Term Parking
- Albert I Parking Lot — purple zone, a few minutes’ walk from the pier
Where should you park to enjoy the beaches at La Pinède?
To get to the Pinède beaches, the Marina parking lot is right next to where the beach begins.
Otherwise, there are sandy parking areas—more rustic—where you pay in cash.

Where should you avoid parking in Calvi?
It is important to fully understand Calvi’s parking regulations before leaving your car anywhere, or you may face fines.
- Red Zone (no payment): Christophe Colomb Avenue, Avenue de la République, Santa Maria Avenue, and Wilson Boulevard require payment regardless of the user, including residents. Any parking without payment is subject to a €17 post-parking fee.
- Purple zone without a pass or ticket: the maximum allowed time is only 3 hours. In addition, or if payment is not made, the €17 post-parking fee will be automatically applied.
FAQ — Parking in Calvi
Is parking in Calvi paid year-round?
No. The orange, purple, and red zones are subject to parking fees only from April 1 through October 31, every day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The parking lots at La Pinède, on the other hand, are only subject to fees from June 1 through September 30, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Outside of these times, parking is free again in most areas.
What is the cheapest parking lot in Calvi?
The Free Parking lot, located at the roundabout on Airport Road (Route T30), remains the most affordable option since it is completely free. But then you’ll be farther from downtown and the citadel.
Can you reserve a parking spot in advance in Calvi?
From what we’ve seen, Calvi’s municipal parking lots do not offer traditional online reservations. Only annual or seasonal memberships can be purchased in advance, upon presentation of proof of residence or an employment certificate.
