The Mare e Sol beach in Pietrosella, a commune in southern Corsica, offers a heavenly setting in the Gulf of Ajaccio. Its translucent waters and fine blond sand make it a dream destination! We particularly enjoyed the snorkeling opportunities along the rocks.
In this article, find all our tips and photos to make the most of this idyllic location!

Is Mare e Sol Beach worth it?
Yes, this beach is absolutely worth a visit for its exceptional natural setting. The crystal-clear waters and white sandbanks allow you to venture deep into the water in complete tranquillity. We particularly appreciate the unspoilt environment, with its pine forest offering a peaceful ambience. In fact, the beach is one of the most beautiful in the Gulf of Ajaccio!

Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is made up of fine blond sand. A few rocky areas also dot the shoreline, as do posidonia meadows, testifying to the site’s good ecological health.

Swimming conditions and supervision
Swimming conditions are ideal, thanks to gentle, gradual entry into the water. We found excellent underwater visibility, perfect for snorkeling. Beware, however: the beach is unsupervised and wild cows can sometimes roam the area. It is therefore important to remain vigilant.

Installations
Beachside restaurants offer deckchairs and parasols for hire in season. However, the beach has neither showers nor public toilets.
