We were recently lucky enough to stay at the Hotel Casa Santini x Roc Seven in Porto-Vecchio.
We were charmed by the incredible setting and the bohemian chic atmosphere. The hotel’s many assets include a private beach and a garden with a breathtaking view of the bay .
In this article, we share with you our experience in this establishment through photos and an account of our stay.
This review is completely independent, we stayed anonymously and paid our bill in full.
Why stay at Hotel Casa Santini x Roc Seven?
This establishment is full of charm. In fact, we listed it in our selection of the most beautiful hotels in Corsica and in our article 7 superb seaside hotels in Porto-Vecchio. We had a memorable stay. In our opinion, this is an exceptional hotel with three main assets:
- an exceptional setting: we were captivated by the hotel’s magnificent garden overlooking the bay of Porto-Vecchio. It even has a private beach with comfortable deckchairs.
- a relaxing ambience: we really appreciated the bohemian chic decor, which creates a relaxing atmosphere. All areas of the hotel were particularly well decorated, with modern objects in organic shapes.
- an ideal breakfast: we fell in love with the hotel’s breakfast, served directly at the table. From fresh produce to local specialities and ready-made meals, we had a wonderful time! We even took advantage of the sunny weather to set up camp facing the bay. A magical moment!

We are very satisfied with our experience at this establishment. This hotel is both luxurious and comfortable, and offers magnificent sea views. The garden and private beach also add a great deal of charm.
We found the rooms clean and well-equipped. We slept there comfortably, and had a superb view from our terrace. What’s more, we loved the bohemian chic decor, which can even be found in the hotel restaurant!

Decoration and atmosphere
The hotel’s bohemian-chic decor invites you to relax and unwind. We were seduced by the sophisticated, elegant setting, with its neutral tones and interesting interplay of materials and textures.
We really liked our room. The colors were soft and the natural materials gave the place a warm ambience. The common areas were also well decorated with comfortable furniture and organic elements. It’s hard not to fall in love with the hotel garden, isn’t it?

The room
Once in the room, we discovered that the bathroom was open to the sleeping area. It brightened up the room. We loved the soothing ambience of the place. The decor was bohemian chic, with neutral colors and natural materials.
The aged-effect double door hung on the wall, adding an interesting decorative element. We found it gave the whole thing a rustic touch. Wood and straw were used for different parts of the décor, making the space warm and welcoming.
We loved the lights hanging from the ceiling and the ethnic decorations on the wall. The bed was positioned opposite the bay window that gave access to our private terrace. We slept very well there, without drawing the curtains to enjoy the sunrise as soon as we woke up. Who like to wake up naturally, like us?
From our room’s terrace, we had a lovely view of the hotel’s rooftops and the bay of Porto-Vecchio. It was an incredible sight for us, as the colors were vibrant. They lit up the landscape. We could make out a series of green hills stretching into the distance, and the intense blue sea. We could have spent hours looking at the scene, couldn’t you?

The bathroom
In our bedroom, the bathroom was completely open to the room and featured both a shower and a bathtub. We were able to choose between the two options. Would you rather take a relaxing bath or an invigorating shower?
The decor was reminiscent of the sea, in keeping with the bohemian chic spirit. We also really liked the brightness of the room. The inlaid pebble detail on the walls and in the shower was very pleasing. The shower floor was covered with rocks, and we found the sensation on our feet rather pleasant. We also had a small kit of skincare products on hand.

The breakfast
The hotel’s breakfast is served directly at the table. We chose to sit facing the bay on a comfortable sofa. The setting was incredible and the weather superb. We have wonderful memories of this moment.
On our table, we had local products such as cured meats, cheeses and Corsican jams. What’s more, we enjoyed a delicious fresh fruit salad. Lovers of sweet breakfasts will be delighted to try our croissant and pain au chocolat.
To accompany our meal, we drank 3 different beverages. First, we tested a Kusmi Tea, then an orange juice and finally the detox juice of the moment.
If you have a sweet tooth, you can also order a dish à la carte. These include scrambled eggs and fresh salmon. Breakfast can be served both indoors and outdoors. Weather permitting, we really recommend breakfast in the hotel garden. The setting is beautiful and natural. It’s a real paradise!

Equipment and common areas
The hotel boasts a magnificent garden overlooking the bay of Porto-Vecchio. We could have spent hours on a sofa contemplating the Corsican landscape. The setting is conducive to calm and relaxation. Can you hear the water lapping? If you like yoga, the establishment offers classes on Thursdays and Sundays from 9am to 10am at the water’s edge.
You can also take advantage of the establishment’s private beach. Once again, you’ll enjoy an incredible, natural environment. It’s the ideal place to relax and forget your daily routine. We found the deckchairs very comfortable and well exposed.
For those lucky enough to own a boat, the hotel has its own private harbor. You can moor there with no problem, and dock at the foot of the building. Just remember to reserve your pitch in advance. There are 20 rings available.

THE SAME MISTAKE WE MADE
On one of our last trips to Europe, a hacker stole our credit card details while we were using a hotel WiFi.
So our trip began with a “card blocked” call… Not funny at all!

The restoration
The establishment features a Bar and Restaurant with indoor and outdoor terraces. Restaurant Le Roc Seven moved into the Hotel Casa Santini in May 2023. We found the bohemian chic decor to be in keeping with the whole building. However, the colorful universe is not exactly the same. There are lots of pink tones in the restaurant.
The restaurant serves refined, generous Mediterranean cuisine. It is inspired by Italian, Spanish and Corsican gastronomy. You can enjoy tapas-style starters, for example. Meat and fish dishes are also available.
The restaurant takes advantage of the hotel’s exceptional setting. We recommend you take your meal on the outdoor terrace, weather permitting. We loved contemplating the view from the garden as we ate our meal.
A little history
Casa Santini originally opened its doors in 1963. The hotel subsequently changed its name. Formerly known as Hôtel Goéland, the establishment will finally revert to Hôtel Casa Santini x Roc Seven in April 2023. A partnership between the Santini and Vidoni families has breathed new life into the hotel.

- Driving time from Calvi: 3h15min.
- Driving time from Bastia: 2h25min.
- Driving time from Corte: 2h.
These journey times are approximate and depend on traffic density.
How to get there
To get to Corsica, you have 2 options: plane or ferry. If you choose the ferry option to get to Corse-du-Sud, you can arrive in Ajaccio. It’s a 2h30 drive to Porto-Vecchio.

You can also land at Sud Corse Figari airport, which is about a 25-minute drive from the town. You can then hail a cab or take a bus to Porto-Vecchio. See the official Tourist Office website for a list of possible bus routes.
We strongly recommend that you have access to a car for your trip to Corsica. If you want to see Corsica’s exceptional landscapes, you’ll need a car. On the other hand, if you want to stay in town, you can walk to most tourist attractions from the hotel.

For people with reduced mobility
The hotel is accessible to people with reduced mobility. There are no steps at the entrance. Elevators provide easy access to the various floors and areas of the hotel.
You’ll just have to pay attention to the floors, which are sometimes covered with a raised material.
Is Hotel Casa Santini x Roc Seven family-friendly?
The facility is family-friendly. Your children will love the garden or the private terrace off your bedroom. If you’re bringing a newborn, you can book a cot with the hotel in advance. Restaurant Le Roc Seven also offers special children’s menus.
