Temperatures
Temperatures are warm but rarely exceed 30°C (86°F). The thermometer shows an average of 22°C (72°F), and 25°C (77°F) during the day.
Water temperatures
In June, the sea is warm, around 23°C (73°F). It is ideal for water activities such as swimming, snorkeling, paddling or kayaking.
Crowds and prizes
Tourists in Corsica in September are numerous, but less than during the summer vacations – especially in August. The beaches and tourist attractions are therefore more pleasant to visit. Accommodation prices are high but remain more interesting than in July and August.

Everything is open in September: attractions, museums and parks, hotels, restaurants.

1. Climate in Corsica in September – weather forecast
The climate of Corsica is Mediterranean. It has dry summers with high temperatures, and rainy but relatively mild winters.
In September, the wind does not blow much on Corsica. When there is, it is hot and dry. The rainfall is very fine and infrequent. So you can plan your trip without worrying.
We enjoy the sunny days. Temperatures are warm in the morning and rise to 25°C (77°F) during the day. It’s the perfect climate for walking on the water or across the island.
The season is also ideal for hiking in the mountains, after the heat of the summer. However, beware of thunderstorms, which are more frequent in this season.

The wind in Corsica depends on the place and the season, but rarely prevents tourist activities. In September, Corsica is less windy than the rest of the year.
The north is more exposed than the south. A dry and hot wind from the Sahara blows to the south of the island. On the other hand, the east coast remains well protected from the winds.

7. Crowds and other conditions
September is a very popular month to visit the island. Some popular coastal towns are already well filled, such as Porto-Vecchio, Bonifacio or Calvi.
Despite this, the tourist crowds remain smaller than during the summer vacations, especially in August. The hotel occupancy rate is about 75%. Less crowded beaches and restaurants, more parking and hotel space… We enjoy walking the towns and trails after the summer crowds have left.
September is an ideal time to visit Corsica.

9. September events in Corsica
- Fair of Niolu in Casamaccioli
The village welcomes thousands of faithful to celebrate the nativity of the Virgin Mary (mass, traditional songs…). A pastoral and commercial fair offering cultural meetings and local products takes place at the same time.
- Celebrations of the Nativity of the Virgin
Besides the feast in Casamaccioli, the faithful celebrate the Virgin in Lavasina and Pacheraccia.
- Honey festival in Murzo
The event celebrates the Corsican honey. Many producers are present.
- The meetings of the Polyphonic Chant in Calvi

10. Prices in September
As everywhere, prices vary depending on what you are looking for. The accommodations offered are very diverse, from camping to 5 star hotels. It is therefore difficult to give a budget.
In September, the high tourist season continues. The rates are higher than in winter but still more interesting than in July and August. Beware: prices are higher during weekends, holidays and in the most popular cities, such as Porto-Vecchio.
