Is Toga Beach worth it?
Yes, it’s a small beach well worth a visit.
Located to the north of the town, it runs alongside the residences of Bastia.
This confidential, family-friendly cove promises a quiet moment away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the big tourist beaches.
Covered in pebbles, it is divided into two sections linked by a path running along the coast.
It’s one of Bastia’s main attractions!

Sand or no sand?
Toga Beach is covered with small pebbles.

Swimming conditions and supervision
The beach is unsupervised and we recommend you wear water shoes: there are some large pebbles in the water. This beach is ideal for snorkeling, with its few rocks.

Installations
We didn’t see any showers or toilets on the beach. You won’t find any recreational or water sports areas either.

Where is Toga Beach?
- In the town of Bastia, near the Port of Toga
- In the Minelli district, near Villa Ker Maria
- About a 25-minute walk from Bastia’s Old Port

Access by car and parking
To get to Plage de Tonga by car, allow 5 minutes from Place Saint-Nicolas. Take the D80A in the direction of Cap Corse, passing the Port de Tonga. It’s an easy road along the coast.
A large free parking lot is located close to the beach.

Access from the parking lot
The parking lot is a 2-minute walk from the beach. A staircase leads down to the car park.

Public transport access
The beach is accessible by bus. The nearest stop,“Toga“, is a 5-minute walk away.
It is served by the S4, LN and LB lines of the local network.
