Best gastronomic and bistronomic restaurants in Bonifacio
1. Restaurant L’A Cheda (Hotel)
Our experience at Restaurant L’A Cheda was a truly enchanted interlude. Nestled in the heart of the hotel of the same name, one of Bonifacio’s finest luxury hotels and indeedone of our favorite hotels in Corsica, the gourmet restaurant offers exquisite cuisine cooked with herbs from the garden. This hotel really does have a lot of charm, and we loved touring the vegetable garden before going to the restaurant to find the 1st beans of the year on our plate. We really followed the rhythm of the seasons!

Chef Lionel Lebrun revisits the fundamentals of Corsican tradition, sourcing from the hotel’s own vegetable garden or from local producers. Here, you’ll be locavores! To get the ball rolling, we started with a truly perfect egg, accompanied by Corsican mint, saffron and truffle, and that was just the beginning.

Like us, let yourself be lulled by the chef’s culinary savoir-faire, which blends Corsican tradition and modernity. This inventiveness is reflected in dishes like the organic Corsican veal tataki with grilled sesame oil and blue meat radish. This excellent Bonifacio restaurant also makes the difference by promoting local producers!
To extend this experience, spend one or more nights at the Hôtel L’A Cheda – see prices, photos and availability – and book in advance.

2. Restaurant L’An Faim
A real favorite close to Bonifacio’s Citadella, we spent a very warm moment at the succulent table of Restaurant L’An Faim. The staff were very pleasant and the service was fast and efficient! After our meal, the owner gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the kitchen, and passed on his passion for local cuisine with a real eye for detail and precision. We felt really privileged!

In terms of flavors, typical Corsican dishes are fine and sophisticated, with unique tastes and local, seasonal cuisine. Chef Fabien delighted our taste buds. To begin with, we succumbed to the brocciu and honey cheese variation, with 3 different shapes of the same cheese. The bread was soft, with a honeycombed crumb and a crisp crust. A delight! For the main course, the gambas with spaghetti and squid ink were simply exquisite. A surprising combination of tastes and textures that enhanced this suspended culinary moment.

3. Version Maquis restaurant (overlooking the citadel)
Another great Bonifacio address is the Restaurant de l’Hôtel Version Maquis near the citadel. During our stay in this establishment where luxury rhymes with serenity and relaxation, we had the pleasure of dining at its gourmet table.

The chef offers original, generous and resolutely Mediterranean cuisine. At lunchtime, you can enjoy light dishes such as fresh salads, grilled fish and tender meats. In the evening, the atmosphere becomes more refined, and we enjoyed a complete gastronomic experience. The open kitchen allowed us to watch the chef and his brigade at work.
