1. Restaurant La Signora
This 1-star restaurant is an ode to Mediterranean and Corsican cuisine, imagined by Andalusian-born chef Juan Carlos Perez Durán. Trained in the four corners of the world (Asia, Polynesia…), he offers a daring cuisine sublimating local products, as illustrated by his black pork nustrale with Asian flavors, pakchoï and coriander. The setting is also magnificent. The restaurant is housed in a former Genoese stately home, surrounded by pine forests and vineyards. The terrace offers a superb panorama of the Bonifato mountain cirque, an ideal place to enjoy a glass of wine. Our head sommelier, Morgan Gaby, is sure to find a wine to suit your taste from his 800 references! 2. Restaurant La Table di Ma (Lumio)
La Table di Ma is a 1-star restaurant in the 4-star A Casa di Ma hotel. Located in the village of Lumio, a 20-minute drive from Calvi, we listed this magnificent establishment in our article on the best luxury hotels in Calvi. The gourmet restaurant made our stay even more unforgettable. It offers innovative Corsican cuisine, featuring noble, local products. You can choose between a 5-, 7- or 9-stroke menu. A sommelier is also on hand to enhance your experience. We were won over by the exquisite dishes we tasted, alternating meats and fish cooked to perfection.
The chefs at Table di Ma are a passionate couple who have both worked in prestigious establishments, notably in Paris (Le Fouquet’s…). We rediscovered this culture of excellence not only on our plates, but also in the quality of the service and the chic, subdued decor. 3. Restaurant A Mandria di Pigna (Pigna)
Discover the charming village of Pigna, between sea and mountains. Inside is an old sheepfold, the convivial setting for the Michelin-starred A Mandria di Pigna restaurant. On the shady terrace or in front of the fireplace, you can enjoy generous, traditional Corsican cuisine (ewe à l’antica, roast suckling lamb…). The restaurant, which specializes in wood-fired grilled meats, also offers a wide selection of pasta dishes. We recommend this establishment for gourmet quality at affordable prices!

4. Restaurant La Table by la Villa
We really enjoyed this restaurant located in the 5-star hotel La Villa, where we spent a night. This refined, contemporary establishment boasts a superb terrace with swimming pool and views of Calvi’s citadel. We listed it in our article on the best luxury hotels in Calvi. Our experience at the “La Table” restaurant will remain etched in our memories, with its beautifully spaced tables and elegant atmosphere. The chef excels in the preparation of fish and seafood, offering exquisite flavors. We also fell in love with our starter, asparagus with cuttlefish, flavored with Kumquat Sabayon. This plate was just like the other dishes, very well presented, colorful and floral!

5. Restaurant Casa Vinu
Close to Calvi’s citadel, this unpretentious restaurant serves delicious food. Although the menu is short, it is constantly renewed. It features Corsican products, to be enjoyed with a glass of wine! In fact, the cellar contains many references. The little extra? The restaurant features a stage where local singers and musicians sometimes perform.

6. Restaurant l’Île de Beauté
We highly recommend this restaurant located on Calvi harbor. In addition to its large, cosy, contemporary interior, it features a lively terrace overlooking the sea. The menu features a wide choice of meats, as well as fish. It’s the perfect place to enjoy mussels! Or opt for the Corsican menu, featuring red mullet. For dessert, there’s something for everyone. We indulged ourselves with the chocolate mi-cuit, which was particularly delicious. As you can see, the portions are very generous indeed: small appetites please!

7. Restaurant Casa Bella Storia
Casa Bella Storia is just a few metres from the Île de Beauté restaurant. It also overlooks the harbor and has a large shaded terrace. Dishes and starters feature seafood products, especially octopus and squid (octopus tartare, squid with chorizo and squid ink pasta). The desserts are also worth a detour for their originality and finesse. Let yourself be tempted by the pastry chef’s creation “First step in the forest” with milk chocolate, porcini mushrooms and Bailey’s? In any case, we were won over by Casa Bella Storia’s refined, well-presented dishes. If you’re lucky, you might even enjoy a concert of Corsican songs!

8. Umami Restaurant
Still on Quai Adolphe Landry on the harbour, you’ll find Umami Restaurant. This is a traditional Corsican restaurant, using all the local produce (charcuterie, chestnuts in crème brûlée, or brocciu in a savory dish or fiadone…). Fish is his specialty, with excellent grilled sardines, fish soup, tuna, sole and filet of Saint-Pierre. We also appreciate the pleasant service. Please note, however, that this restaurant is only open in season!

9. Restaurant Le Comme Chez Soi
As the name suggests, Comme Chez Soi is a friendly restaurant at the end of Quai Adolphe Landry. This is an ideal address for a meal with friends, as the menu is very varied. You’ll find great fish, whether as a starter, main course or tapas! Examples include salmon gravlax, tuna sashimi or fried smelts to share as an aperitif. Healthy alternatives (salads and poke bowls) will also satisfy vegetarians! Add to this a well-stocked dessert menu and a pleasant terrace overlooking the sea, and you have a quality seasonal restaurant.

These restaurants don’t match the quality of the others on our list, but we had to mention a few beach restaurants, so you can eat with your feet in the sand!
10. Restaurant Marco Plage
This straw hut on Calvi beach offers a superb view of the citadel. The menu is very extensive. It does, however, offer good Balagne wines and a wide choice of healthy offerings, which are very much appreciated in this type of restaurant. There are poke bowls and plenty of salads. It’s also a place where you can enjoy some Corsican products (charcuterie platter, lamb chop with maquis herbs…). Gourmets will love the burgers!

11. Restaurant U Cornu Marinu
This restaurant is worth considering if you go in high season, and want to enjoy the deckchairs on this private part of the beach (€20 per deckchair per day). The short menu features refreshing summer products (fruit salads, melon, salads, prawns…). Gourmets can also opt for a hamburger. We love the large terrace and the warm, cosy decor, with its use of natural materials (rattan, raffia, wood…).

Best restaurants for a healthy and cheap lunch in Calvi
12. Complètement Givrés Restaurant
This restaurant, close to the citadel, is rather original. It presents itself as an American restaurant, offering a wide choice of burgers and bagels, as well as specialties such as hot dogs and shrimp rolls (brioche buns browned in butter and stuffed with shrimp), and milkshakes. It’s amazing that we’ve included it in our list of healthy restaurants, isn’t it? Yet this restaurant is ideal for vegan or gluten-free eating in Calvi. Tasty options include a guacamole burger, bagel with hummus and avocado, salads and a vegetable platter. A wide choice of smoothies and fresh fruit juices completes this healthy offering.
Last but not least, we were particularly drawn to its verdant terrace! Please note that this establishment is only open seasonally.

13. Restaurant A Cantina di Delia
We were initially charmed by the façade of this establishment. Its elegant little terrace, decorated with flowers, is the perfect place to take a look inside. A large room adorned with numerous paintings exudes a slightly old-fashioned charm, with its flower plates, moldings and fringed lamps. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the well-stocked menu invites you to settle in. For healthy, affordable meals, this restaurant is ideal, with Thai salads or salmon tartare. But it’s the tapas that are really his specialty. For €7 to €12, you can enjoy cubes of breaded camembert, patatas bravas, avocado and salmon tartine, vegetarian naan or marinated tuna or salmon sashimi.

This quiet, spacious restaurant, with a large terrace overlooking the outdoors, offers a hearty children’s menu. Adults will also be satisfied with generous dishes, including quality meats. The establishment also offers an innovative automated dispensing concept, enabling wine-lovers to enjoy a wide selection of Corsican wines by the glass.

15. Santa Maria Restaurant
We return to the center of Calvi with this restaurant at the foot of the Santa Maria church. Run by the same family since 1952, the establishment offers a well-stocked menu, changing regularly according to the availability of local produce. Children can enjoy a starter/main course/dessert menu at €11.50. Adults can opt for the Corsican menu or the tempting daily specials. The restaurant’s terrace, lined with pedestrian streets, is particularly pleasant in early spring.
