We really liked Plage Trottel, located to the west of Ajaccio. It offers superb views of the bay, while remaining close to the town center. Walk along the seafront promenade to the sandy beach in just 15 minutes.

Is Plage Trottel worth it?
Yes, it’s a beautiful city beach that’s well worth a visit. Located just a few minutes’ walk from the city center, it offers unobstructed views over the Gulf of Ajaccio. It’s a pleasant place to stroll, walk, swim or simply enjoy a relaxing moment with your feet in the water. In fact, it features in our article on the resort’s must-do activities.

Type of beach
Sand or no sand?
The beach floor is a mixture of small gravels and sand. It is therefore quite grainy under bare feet.

Swimming conditions and supervision
Swimming conditions are very good. The descent into the water is gradual. The waters are turquoise, but there are a few rocks.
The beach is unsupervised, but we did see a first-aid post.

Installations
We found showers and toilets right on the beach.
