Plan to come early or late.<br\/>And avoid shoes with heels. It is an old city with hills to climb and cobblestones. Charming and relaxing landscapes.<br\/>Everything is very well arranged for tourism.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/6a-Calvi-plage\/i-NDqc9gK\/1\/445a5b75\/L\/plage_calvi_Corse-27-L.jpg\" alt=\"Citadel of Calvi\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Citadel of Calvi<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The most beautiful places<\/h3>\n\n<p>The region can be split in 2.<br\/>Let&#8217;s start with the waterfront:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/visit-citadel-calvi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">city of Calvi<\/a>, full of life, its long beach and its <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/visit-citadel-calvi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">citadel<\/a> on a small peninsula. We particularly enjoyed the sunset from the beach with the citadel in front.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the charming town of <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/ile-rousse-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ile-Rousse<\/a> which has a lot of charm. The rock of <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/lighthouse-pietra-island-ile-rousse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">its islands<\/a> of Pietra becomes red at sunset, hence the name of the city.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the fascinating rocks of Lumio&#8217;s<a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/punta-di-spanu-lumio-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Punta<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/punta-di-spanu-lumio-corsica\/\">di Spanu<\/a> coves, which surround 4 small sandy coves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the fine sand of the surrounding beaches such as <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/beach-bodri-ghjunchitu-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bodri<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Then you can explore the inland with the <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/best-villages-balagne-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">charming villages<\/a> of La Balagne such as:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the village of <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/village-pigna-balagne-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pigna<\/a>, the most photographed with its postcard look. Be careful, the streets are very steep.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Corbara, the largest with its convent and the ruins of its castle.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the village of <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/village-speloncato-balagne-corse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Speloncato<\/a> with its high and narrow houses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the village of <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/village-sant-antonino-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sant&#8217;Antonino<\/a>, the highest and oldest (and perhaps also the most visited&#8230;)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>They all have narrow streets, charming churches and views of the hills and the sea. Don&#8217;t hesitate to walk on both sides<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the beach of Favona, pleasant to swim<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the bay of Pinarellu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and many, many others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>But to refresh yourself, you may want to go up into the mountains. You will discover:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the canyon of the Inzecca,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the gorge of Solenzara, taken by storm in summer to be able to refresh itself,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the forest of Ospedale with its rocks and trees in the lake,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the archaeological site of Cucuruzzu that we loved: a mystical atmosphere, in the heart of the
