The landscape seems lunar.<br\/>It is necessary to walk to reach this hidden beach, one of our favorites in Corsica.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is also called Pertusato beach, and by its Corsican name Plage Sant Antoniu.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/15f2-Plage-Saint-Antoine\/i-fznXw2K\/5\/b798f319\/L\/plage_saint_antoine_Corse-14-L.jpg\" alt=\"Saint-Antoine Beach\" width=\"702\" height=\"468\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Saint-Antoine Beach<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why is this beach famous?<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saint-Antoine is much less famous than the beaches on the side of Porto-Vecchio (such as on Palombaggia), but we recommend it if you are ready to walk a little because:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The views from the access hike are sublime<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is located at the foot of cliffs <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the sand is fine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She is famous for:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The islet in continuity of the Cape of Pertusato which has the shape of a boat, and which is called rudder of Corsica<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Grotte de l&#8217;Orca, a very impressive open air cave in front of the white cliffs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is one of the most beautiful beaches around Bonifacio<a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/beaches-bonifacio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(see our list<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/15f2-Plage-Saint-Antoine\/i-676wMqz\/5\/b0299672\/L\/plage_saint_antoine_Corse-44-L.jpg\" alt=\"Cave of the Orca\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Cave of the Orca<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cape Pertusato<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is located at the foot of Cape Pertusato, the second most southern point of Corsica.<br\/>Its Corsican name is Capu Partusatu.<br\/>It takes its name from the pierced rock that it overlooks. An easy 6km route that starts at the Chapelle Saint-Roch. Follow the signs &#8220;Sentier de Pertusato&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By car on the D260 road to the semaphore parking lot (also called Grotte de Saint Antoine parking lot) then 1km walk.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then you have to do 10 to 15 minutes of hiking on a more difficult slope. See details below.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/15e-Falaise-Bonifacio\/i-mWBb7n8\/5\/7ac54244\/L\/IMG_6725-L.jpg\" alt=\"Route D260\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Route D260<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Parking<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We forgot to take a picture of the parking for you&#8230; Sorry.<br\/>Be aware that it is really small. So if you are visiting during a busy period, you have to come early or late to find space.<br\/>But if you have the courage, stay parked in Bonifacio and do the full hike because the views are really majestic.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hiking  <\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">If you leave from Bonifacio<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you decide to leave from Bonifacio, the path starts next to the Saint-Roch chapel. It is a small white building overlooking the sea in a hollow of the cliff.<br\/>You start on the Campu Romanilu path and then you join the path that takes you along these cliffs.<br\/>Take the time to turn around and enjoy the exceptional views. The further away you go, the more you appreciate Bonifacio&#8217;s position!<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Always be very careful at the edge of the cliffs, the limestone is crumbling!<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/15e-Falaise-Bonifacio\/i-McRBJBs\/5\/d3ae118f\/L\/falaises_Bonifacio_Corse-14-L.jpg\" alt=\"View of Bonifacio - Pertusato path\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From the parking lot<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the parking lot, the path is easy, wide and obvious.<br\/>You see the lighthouse in the distance. You can&#8217;t go wrong!<br\/>Just know, it&#8217;s not a straight line. The path is a little longer to go around the cliffs.<br\/>And there is no shade at all, protect yourself!<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/15f-Phare-PErtusato\/i-cK6GztW\/2\/27a9b642\/L\/phare_pertusato_Corse-2-L.jpg\" alt=\"Pertusato Lighthouse Road\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before reaching the lighthouse, you will discover several viewpoints. Follow the rules and take all your waste with you.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/15f2-Plage-Saint-Antoine\/i-BJ2KBkR\/6\/c818c30c\/L\/plage_saint_antoine_Corse-1-L.jpg\" alt=\"Panel: Reserve of the Bouches de Bonifacio\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sand conditions<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sand of the beach of Saint Antoine is golden with a slight pink touch.<br\/>It is rather fine and pleasant.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note that at any period, some beaches in Corsica can be covered with algae.<br\/>This can happen at any beach but not at the same time. It&#8217;s random.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conditions for swimming<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The water is transparent.<br\/>The slope is more important than on other beaches of the south of appreciate the reserve of the Bouches de Bonifacio.<br\/>Here the hundred-meter-high cliffs are composed of sediment deposits and marine organisms.<br\/>The ground is hard and rocky.<br\/>Take time to observe the cliffs, and notice the lapiaz. It is a typical geological formation of the area. Figari.<br\/>This beach has beautiful rocks. They have different shades of gray and shapes rounded by the elements.
