But we love it when you can easily get a perspective from above. That&#8217;s why we really enjoyed Ostriconi, one of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica<a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/plus-belles-plages-de-corse\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(see our list<\/a>). The road offers a breathtaking view of the sand, the river and the desert behind.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#3 &#8211; With a beautiful Unesco site<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/3f-Calanques-piana-bateau\/i-VVk8WN2\/1\/c59fb6c8\/XL\/calanques_piana_bateau_corse-25-XL.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of Corsica - piana\" title=\"Photo of Corsica - piana\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>In the middle of the west coast, you can find one of the best<a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/fr\/list\/258\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Unesco<\/a> World Heritage Sites I have seen. The <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/calanques-de-piana-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">calanques de Piana<\/a> are part of it. These are large pink cliffs that plunge directly into the water. The hard rock resists erosion, which has allowed it to create these magnificent shapes.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#4 &#8211; A mountainous island<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/13b-Bavella\/i-NZHDJDC\/2\/a4ee16b8\/XL\/Aiguilles_Bavella_Corse-20-XL.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of Corsica - Bavella\" title=\"Photo of Corsica - Bavella\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Corsica is in fact a mountain range. 2\/3 of the island is mountainous. Palombaggia is a long white sandy beach with turquoise water and pink, orange and red rocks. We recommend visiting early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when the rocks turn red because the sun is low on the horizon. Finding beautiful rock formations is what I like most when I travel. Even in the <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/visit-desert-agriates-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Agriates desert<\/a>, which does not really look like a It takes a little effort to reach it, but once you&#8217;re there, it&#8217;s incredible: cliffs eroded by the elements, sea pillars and giant holes made of yellow\/white limestone. We ended up getting soaked, but the place became even more enchanting.<br\/>The 2h loop to reach Cucuruzzu is under the forest with giant boulders covered with moss and twisted branches. Magical!<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#19 &#8211; Defying gravity<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/16b-Bateau-Bonifacio-aller\/i-xjqr5jV\/3\/44ed3919\/L\/Bateau_Bonifacio_Corse-34-L.jpg\" alt=\"Corsica Landscapes Photos - Bonifacio\" title=\"Corsica landscapes - Bonifacio\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>And we are back in <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/things-to-do-in-bonifacio-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bonifacio<\/a> in South Corsica. The citadel is located on a peninsula at the edge of the cliffs. And with the erosion, some houses even seem to be suspended above the water. You can see it very well by taking a boat ride. On this Corsica picture, it is the waterfall of the Veil of the Bride. Wonderful!<br\/>Note however that the waterfalls are breathtaking around May-June when the snow melts. You come for the beautiful landscapes of Corsica.<br\/>You have high mountains, black beaches, white beaches, giant rocks, pink cliffs, white cliffs, vineyards&#8230;.. so many different landscapes to admire!<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#21 &#8211; Black Beaches<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/9c-Cote-ouest-cap-Corse\/i-6P6c2wZ\/1\/2bf2c904\/L\/plage_albo_cap_Corse-10-L.jpg\" alt=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - Albo\" title=\"Landscapes of Corsica - Albo\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>The black beaches of Corsica are located on the west coast of Cap Corse<a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/visit-cap-corse-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(see our guide<\/a>). They are not caused by volcanic ash, but by an old asbestos mine nearby.<br\/>The contrast with the turquoise water is striking!<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#22 &#8211; Gulf of Porto<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/3c-Calanques-Piana-Route\/i-dTDxJPH\/1\/64eec89e\/L\/calanques_piana_route_corse-5-L.jpg\" alt=\"Corsica Landscapes Photos - Porto\" title=\"Corsica Landscapes Photos - Porto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>The entire <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/gulf-of-porto-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gulf of Porto<\/a> is a Unesco protected area. The ancient volcanic crater of Scandola presents rare geological characteristics. To protect it, it is only accessible by boat or by hiking for several days. In our opinion, these are some of the best Corsican landscapes.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#23 &#8211; Wonders on the Coast<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/7a-ile-rousse\/i-VPCh5wG\/1\/1bfabddf\/L\/ile_rousse_Corse-54-L.jpg\" alt=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - ile rousse\" title=\"Corsica Landscapes Photos - Ile Rousse\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>For those who don&#8217;t want to go on a <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/road-trip-corsica-itinerary\/\">road trip around Corsica<\/a>, you can choose a coastal town to stay in and spend the week exploring the area. One of my favorites was <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/ile-rousse-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ile-Rousse <\/a>with its beautiful rocky promontory and white lighthouse.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#24 &#8211; Easy hikes<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/8d-Sentier-douaniers\/i-Hxss2Kz\/1\/c24bee3f\/L\/sentier_douanier_cap_Corse_randonee-38-L.jpg\" alt=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - customs path\" title=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - Path of the customs officers\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Many hikes in Corsica are difficult because of the high mountains. But along the coast, you can walk the Customs Trails, which is an easy but rewarding experience. The most famous section is located at the northern end of the Cap Corse.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#25 &#8211; Vineyards<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/9f-Patrimonio\/i-MWwxPW9\/1\/774c1c6e\/L\/Patrimonio_Corse-9-2-L.jpg\" alt=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - Patrimonio\" title=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - Patrimonio\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Other types of Corsican landscapes are the vineyards. On the east coast, you can find flat vineyards. But there are also regions where they are located on the hills. One of our favorites is Patrimonio with its beautiful church. Bonus: it&#8217;s close to the sea and to Saint-Florent.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#26 &#8211; Desert, beach and lagoon&#8230;.<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/10c-Lotu-Beach\/i-JDKmbvz\/1\/5a111dde\/L\/Plage_Lotu_desert_agriates_Corse-1-5-L.jpg\" alt=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - Lotu\" title=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - Lotu\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>This is one of our favorite views of Corsica, taken in the <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/visit-desert-agriates-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Agriates desert<\/a>. It is one of the best places to appreciate the landscapes of Cap Corse with the mountains plunging into the sea.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#27 &#8211; Dream Beaches<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/10e-Saleccia-Beach\/i-MmPqNhL\/1\/877cb69d\/L\/plage_saleccia_desert_agriates_Corse-9-L.jpg\" alt=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - Saleccia\" title=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - Saleccia\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>The island of Corsica is also full of varied beach landscapes. Some have pure white sand dunes&#8230; like <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/saleccia-beach-agriates-desert-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Saleccia<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#28 &#8211; Postcard landscape<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/15b-Tamaricciu\/i-jhBTfP9\/1\/dcd2de98\/L\/plage_Tamaricciu_Corse-42-L.jpg\" alt=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - Tamaricciu\" title=\"Landscapes of Corsica Photos - Tamaricciu\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>One of the most photographed beaches in Corsica is the cove between <a href=\"https:\/\/corsicalovers.fr\/en\/tamaricciu-beach-corsica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tamaricciu <\/a>and Palombaggia. It has giant grey rocks and a single umbrella pine.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">#29 &#8211; And small islands around<\/h3>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/16c-Iles-Lavezzi\/i-vb9Z93s\/1\/0bfe3f38\/L\/Bateau_iles_Lavezzi_Corse-122-L.jpg\" alt=\"Corsica Landscapes Photos - Lavezzi\" title=\"Corsica Landscapes Photos - Lavezzi\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p>In addition, you can visit smaller islands around Corsica. One of the most famous is Lavezzu. It is made of giant blocks! But some of the most interesting places to visit are the Citadels.
