But we recommend you not to forget the Corsican villages, which are its soul and its historical heart.<br\/>They don&#8217;t have the beauty of some villages in other French regions, but they have a lot of character.<br\/>You can find them on the side of mountains, on the top of hills or at the seaside. And they are quite austere houses stuck together. Our review<\/h3>\n\n<p>Built on a rocky spur, Speloncato is a typical village of the Balagne region.<br\/>At 570m above sea level, it combines old houses, a large square, beautiful views and fun streets with houses around the rocks.<br\/>The place has a long history, with evidence that it was inhabited during the Neolithic period. Our review<\/h3>\n\n<p>Vescovato is a typical Corsican village on the east coast. It is not in the best condition, but still fascinating to visit.<br\/>It was established in the 8th century and still has elements of the Middle Ages.<br\/>The best section is the tunnel under the church of San Martinu with the stables.<br\/>In the 15th century, Vescovato was the residence of the bishop before being transferred to Bastia, hence its name.<br\/>It is one of the best Corsican villages to have the feeling of traveling in time.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to see and do?<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>explore the historic streets<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>visit the 14th century church of San Marinu in baroque style.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>walk in the tunnel under the church called A Loghja.
