The city offers several paid municipal parking lots in the downtown area, supplemented by free parking zones on the outskirts and numerous on-street parking spaces available year-round.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We appreciated the fact that, since 2021, the municipality has chosen to make parking free outside the tourist season. The main challenge comes in the middle of summer, when the seats in the center fill up quickly by mid-morning. However, parking spaces are limited, especially in the city center and during peak season, and we recommend that you never park on a crosswalk, in a loading zone, or in front of a house\u2019s gate.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These violations are monitored by the municipality and may result in a fine. The Fornole Parking Lot, the Gymnasium Parking Lot (also known as COSEC), and the \u00celes de la Pietra Parking Lot are available free of charge year-round.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, during the winter, the three municipal paid parking lots in the city center also become free every winter, from November 1 to March 31. It&#8217;s just a short walk from the heart of the city, making it easy to explore the pedestrian streets lined with restaurants and shops on foot.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Travel\/Corsica\/7a-ile-rousse\/i-6zSHTpJ\/6\/KqK6xbWfLXWCtNRFcg9gwJxpDMSDTxLCPDst9QxFc\/L\/ile_rousse_Corse-6-L.jpg\" alt=\"L'&#xCE;le-Rousse - seafront\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We especially appreciate how close this parking lot is to the church and its century-old palm trees. If this one is full, the Parking de la Poste is an alternative just a few minutes&#8217; walk away.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where to park to visit the Pietra Islands and the lighthouse<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The walk to the Pietra Islands and their lighthouse is the most popular activity in L&#8217;\u00cele-Rousse. The <strong>Napoleon Parking Lot<\/strong> is therefore still the best option for reaching the beach on foot in just a few minutes.
