We visited the region anonymously, making our own choices and paying our bills in full.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is it hard to park in Ajaccio?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No, parking in Ajaccio is still relatively easy compared to other cities along the Corsican coast, as long as you know the right options. The city has implemented a clear system of parking zones (blue zone, orange zone, and long-term zone) which, combined with about ten parking lots, meets most of the visitors&#8217; needs.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We saw this for ourselves during our visit: the main challenge isn&#8217;t so much finding a spot as it is choosing the right area based on the length of your stay. During peak season, between June and September, however, the campsites on Cours Napol\u00e9on and in the historic center fill up quickly in the morning. The blue zone has 1,248 parking spaces at a rate of \u20ac0.50 per hour, for a maximum of 5 hours, Monday through Saturday.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/photos.smugmug.com\/Corsica-Lovers\/Ajaccio\/n-BzXM5W\/Divers\/i-ZhT9HbF\/0\/NQ4SNG8mg26pSC5PX3Lz4QMFBjF7M4SP3cnRMt4Zp\/L\/Ajaccio_Parking-1-L.jpg\" alt=\"Street Parking in Ajaccio\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The orange zone, reserved for short-term parking on Cours Napol\u00e9on (113 spaces), costs \u20ac1 per hour and is limited to 3 hours. Finally, the long-term parking area offers 680 spaces spread across 6 parking lots at \u20ac0.50 per hour, for up to 8 hours Monday through Friday, with free parking all day on Saturdays. We recommend that you carefully check the color of your zone on the parking meter before walking away, as rates and maximum parking times vary significantly from one zone to another.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Free parking<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are more free options in Ajaccio than in most other coastal cities. Two entire parking lots\u2014the Place Miot parking lot (180 spaces) and the Landry parking lot (55 spaces)\u2014are available free of charge 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition, all paid parking zones are free from noon to 2 p.m. Monday through Saturday, as well as on Sundays and holidays. Depending on which site you want to visit first, your choice of parking lot will vary significantly. It offers 90 parking spaces right in the heart of the area, so you don&#8217;t have to walk from a distant parking lot. However, this parking lot is currently under construction, and its capacity may vary depending on the progress of the work.
