Is the village of Lumio worth a visit? <\/h2>\n\n

The coastal village of Lumio is well worth a visit for its pleasant setting and authentic atmosphere. We recommend a visit to get lost in its maze of narrow streets, to discover its artisans and its charming Baroque church, overlooking the Bay of Calvi.For us, it’s one of the top 5 most beautiful villages in Balagne<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n

1. Admire the panoramic view over the Bay of Calvi<\/h2>\n\n

The first thing to do on arrival is to take in the incredible panoramic view of the Bay of Calvi! The contrast between sea and scrub, harsh light and sculpted relief, gives the scene an almost unreal beauty. The best part? Come at sunrise or sunset, when the colors are golden and pink.<\/p>\n\n

2. Get lost in the village lanes<\/h2>\n\n

The old village of Lumio is a maze of narrow streets lined with blond stone houses, where various creeping plants grow. Here, the silence is disturbed only by the song of the cicadas and the friendly greetings of neighbors. A stroll through Lumio is a taste of the Corsican art of living at its simplest and most authentic.<\/p>\n\n

3. Discover Sainte-Marie church and bell tower<\/h2>\n\n

At the heart of the village stands Sainte-Marie church, with its square bell tower visible from the surrounding area. Built in the 18th century, its powder-pink fa\u00e7ade features a remarkable 17th-century ivory Christ.<\/p>\n\n

On our visit, we weren’t able to visit the interior, as the timetable seems to be unpredictable, but we spent a lot of time looking for the best angle to take a photo of the bell tower, which looks like an Italian campanile!<\/p>\n\n
