On Corsica’s west coast, the Pointe de l’Isolella juts out into the Mediterranean. This picturesque peninsula, with its rocky landscapes, lush green islets and heavenly beaches with crystal-clear waters, has won us over! Set sail and enjoy the sun and sea on the beaches of Isolella.
Here are some useful tips for planning your visit to the Isolella beaches south of Ajaccio.

Why visit the beaches of Isolella?
Are the beaches worth a visit? Our opinion:
Yes, absolutely. The Pointe de l’Isolella is surrounded by small beaches that we found charming. They don’t all have names, despite their variety. Round rocks, seabeds, small and large stretches of golden sand – there’s something for everyone! The scenery is also worth the detour, whether it’s the view of the Mediterranean, the mountainous coast or the islets of Sette Nave. We loved it.
They are among the most beautiful beaches in southern Corsica.
Our favorite moments
We liked it:
- Walks on sea-polished rocks
- The view of Pointe de Sette Nave and the coastline
- The seabed close to the rocky bottom

OUR TIPS FOR RENTING A CAR IN Corsica
- Compare prices on our preferred platform: DiscoverCars – one of the best rated sites.
- Choose a car that is powerful enough (the roads are steep) but compact (some passages are narrow).
- Remember to take outcomprehensive insurance (some roads are winding and narrow).
- There is a lot of demand, book it early.
How to get there? Access road
You can reach the peninsula by car via the D55 departmental road. In fact, the car is the most comfortable way to get around the region. Here are our tips for renting a car in Corsica if you’re interested.
There is a bus network, but you’ll be limited in terms of times and possibilities for reaching the Isolella beaches.
Once you’ve arrived, we recommend you park your car at the entrance to the peninsula. Those who prefer not to walk can stop off at the large white-sand beach at the start of the peninsula, while others can explore the wilder beaches on foot.
Parking
You can park on the street at the beginning of the peninsula.

Useful tips: duration, schedules, difficulties…
Best time to visit
In high or low season, it’s a pleasure to visit the beaches of Isolella. Corsica in winter offers a mild, sunny climate all year round! In summer, prefer morning or evening for sunsets.
Length of visit and main difficulties
Come and admire the scenery for half an hour, or decide to spend half a day here to enjoy the beaches, swimming and walking around the peninsula.
We walked on the rocks, which are quite accessible as they have been polished by the sea. If you’re planning to go hiking, make sure you bring good shoes. Also, some beaches have rocky seabeds, so swimming shoes are welcome!
Visiting with children
The Isolella beaches are ideal for a family day out. Sandy beaches are certainly more suitable.
Catering, Toilets and Facilities
The peninsula is home to a number of restaurants and snack bars. We didn’t see any public toilets. In case of need, you’ll have to go to one of the restaurants.
There is no swimming supervision.

Large sandy beaches
Several large stretches of sand surround Isolella. We found them ideal for swimming and lounging. The sand is golden and fine, and the slope for bathing is gentle. They are ideal for families.
Small sandy and rocky beaches
Nestled among the rounded rocks are small, more intimate sandy beaches, such as Arinella di l’Isuella at the far end of the headland. If you’re looking for a little more exclusivity, these heavenly little spaces are for you! We enjoyed walking around.
More unspoilt corners
It’s also possible to choose a more rocky area and enjoy the sea on your own. We’ve tried it, and it’s very pleasant. The seabed near the rocks is teeming with life and color.
